چکیده
This work presents the investigation of a boriding process on two grades stainless steel namely UNS32750 super duplex and UNSS31803 in order to improve material properties possibly reduce catastrophic failure industrial components. Usage steels has become customary fields oil refinery, marine pipeline applications due increased corrosion resistance; however, these materials exhibit low wear characteristics. To overcome this problem, pack was employed. Evaluation effects microstructure mechanical performed using scanning electron optical microscopy, Vickers hardness tests tests. It shown that 4 h resulted greatest layer thickness yielding maximum surface 1407 HV while value 1201 UNSS31803. Wear resistance borided were up 6-fold greater than those non - treated materials. Also, be more suitable for valve shaft components as compared boronized steel.

AISI 304L austenitic stainless steel with different grain sizes of 0.5 -12 μm was obtained through the martensitic process. Corrosion behavior of different samples was investigated in a 0.5M HCl solution using open circuit potential, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests. Also, the correlation between the grain size and pitting corrosion resistance was as...
متن کاملCorrosion performance of welds in duplex, superduplex and lean duplex stainless steels
To achieve good corrosion resistance in a weld is much more challenging than for plate or sheet material, which has undergone controlled rolling, heat treatment and pickling processes in the steel mill. The choice of weld procedure and parameters, filler metal and shielding gas all play important roles. For duplex and lean duplex grades it is essential to ensure that an adequate amount of auste...
متن کاملInfluence of Initial Microstructure on Hot Deformation Behavior of Duplex Stainless Steels
In this research the effect of initial microstructure on hot deformation behavior in terms of Ferrite-to-Austenite ratios is studied. Two types of stainless steels C1 and C2 were homogenizing heat-treated and deformed under hot compression examinations at temperatures 900ºC and 1100ºC at strain rate of 0.1s-1. The results showed that the flow stress levels of specimens are strongly r...
